About indigo dyeing
At the Tenjin Factory, indigo dyeing is performed by skilled artisans using the traditional Japanese lye fermentation method. The process of creating the dye solution used for indigo dyeing is called "lye fermentation . " Indigo dyeing is a process of creating dye solution using only natural ingredients. We raise reducing bacteria like our own children, converting the indigo that gives the water-insoluble blue color into a water-soluble form. To energize the bacteria, we provide several nutrients, all of which are natural. The dye solution created in this way is safe enough to be spread on fields as fertilizer after its useful life has expired. The linen thread is dyed with this safe dye solution, carefully repeating the dyeing, washing, and drying process multiple times before being woven into sheets. Carefully dyed using traditional methods, indigo dye does not transfer color, so there is no need to worry about staining other clothing when washing.
About indigo dyeing
Tenjin Factory's indigo dyeing is performed by skilled indigo dyers using the traditional Japanese lye fermentation method. The process of creating the dye liquor for indigo dyeing is called "building." We nurture a bacteria called "kangen" (reduction bacteria) like our own child, converting indigo, the source of the blue color that is normally insoluble in water, into a water-soluble form. To energize the bacteria, we provide several nutrients, all of which are natural. After its useful life, the dye liquor is safe enough to be spread on fields as fertilizer. The linen yarn, dyed after repeated drying cycles, is then woven into duvet covers. This traditional dyeing method ensures that the indigo dye will not transfer color, eliminating the risk of staining other clothing during washing.

Carefully dyed colors do not transfer
The indigo dye is dyed with great care and effort, so there is no need to choose a color.
How to care for indigo dyed products
1. Don't worry about the light
Indigo products should not be exposed to sunlight or electric lights for long periods of time.
When drying, please dry in the shade.
When storing, choose a place out of direct light or wrap it in a cloth.
2. Dealing with the scum
If you don't wash it for a moment, the fabric may turn slightly yellow. If this happens, rinse it with water to remove the yellowing. Leaving it as it is can cause the color to fade.
3. Laundry
Wash with minimal friction. Hand washing is recommended, but if using a washing machine, be sure to place the item in a laundry net and wash it by itself. For the first three months or so, the water will be blue and may stain other items. After that, the indigo dye will settle and the blue will no longer come out.
4. Detergent
Use a neutral detergent. Avoid detergents containing bleach or fluorescent whitening agents. Also, avoid using fabric softeners. Indigo is easily soluble in alkaline solutions, so do not use soap.
5. We recommend washing in room temperature water .
The higher the temperature, the easier it is for the color to dissolve in the water.
6. Color Priority: For the first 3 months or so, the blue color will appear in the water, so please wash it separately. If the color is prioritized, immediately wash it with soap or other alkaline detergent .
It can be removed by rinsing with water.
If the ironed fabric gets wrinkled,
Please avoid wrinkling the corners as this may cause discoloration.
8. Machine drying
Please use in delicate mode.
