日本で生まれた麻の葉の模様。元々は仏像装飾に使われていたらしいのですが、その見た目が、大麻（おおあさ）の葉が群生しているように見えることから、麻の葉文様と呼ばれるようになったそうです。そして、大麻の持つ生命力にあやかり、健やかな成長や悪魔よけのシンボルとなりました。今日でも赤ちゃんの産着や肌掛けには、この模様の生地が多く使われています。また、その高いデザイン性から、ファッションや建築などの各分野で使われています。こうして麻の葉模様は、日本を象徴する文様になっています。テンジンファクトリーでは、この日本が誇る伝統柄をリネンの生地で表現し、生活の様々な場面で取り入れられるような製品を作っていきたいと願っています。
高密度で織られたハリのある生地ですが、水を通す度毎にとそのハリ感は消え、柔らかな風合いへと変化します。お洗濯は可能ですので、ご使用中に汚れなど気になった場合は、優しく洗っていただき、長い年月に渡ってお楽しみください。
