FAQ
What everyone wants to know about linen
About the product
A. Linen cloths, towels, sheets, and covers can be washed in a home washing machine.
Linen is a plant fiber that is very compatible with water and is durable, so it can be easily washed.
A. Tenjin Factory's linen is made from a softly woven fabric that is designed to feel nice against the skin, so there are gaps between the threads at first.
The gaps between the yarns narrow with each wash, and the size becomes slightly smaller, but on the other hand, the twist in the yarn loosens and the texture improves with each wash.
*We wash the products once before shipping, so any subsequent shrinkage will be minimal.
A. The fabric used for the futon cover is washed in rolls, so
It will hardly shrink once you receive it.
The curtains in the beta, wari, and mimi series are also pre-washed in rolls, so they shrink very little.
The GA and PL series are washed several times after production so that you can enjoy their natural, washed look.
It will not shrink much after that, but due to the product washing process, there may be slight discrepancies in size.
A. Please use commercially available laundry detergent. However, please avoid detergents containing fabric softener, bleach, or fluorescent agents.
This may damage the fibers and cause pilling.
A. It may cause shrinkage. If you are concerned about the size, please avoid using it.
A. To prevent shrinkage and maintain the soft texture, we recommend dry cleaning or hand washing with wool detergent.
*You can use the washing machine's delicate cycle with wool detergent, but please be aware that depending on how you wash it, it may shrink or lose its shape.
A. If the stain has just appeared, rinse it off with running water before it dries, then wash it as usual and it will come off to the point where it is not noticeable.
If you still have trouble, please consult a professional such as a dry cleaner.
A. Natural fibers, including linen, are prone to friction.
If you put a futon with a synthetic cover inside, friction with it may cause pilling.
We recommend using a futon with a cover made of a smooth fabric such as cotton.
