Kakishibu-dyed Linen&Cotton Blanket
Kakishibu-dyed Linen&Cotton Blanket Sale price¥60,500(税込)

We will deliver freshly made.

Because it is a cloth product, it is best to make it fresh.

This blanket is woven and made into a product after an order is placed. Just before shipping, it is thoroughly washed in water from the foot of Mount Fuji, ensuring it arrives fresh.

The checkered pattern woven using the jacquard technique is also known as the "checkered pattern" or "cobblestone pattern" in Japanese, and is one of the most familiar patterns in the world, used in many different countries.

A persimmon dyed blanket with a smooth texture

This blanket is made from 100% natural materials, using plant fibers that are gentle on the skin and dyed with the natural dye persimmon tannin. It is large enough to completely cover the entire body, making it suitable for use as a bedspread. Each strand of linen and cotton is dyed in the beautiful color of persimmon tannin, which gives it the smooth texture unique to persimmon tannin dyeing. It doesn't cling to the body and has a smooth feel. Incidentally, the smoothness is even stronger than that of indigo dyed blankets.

The checkered pattern is surrounded by a soft double waffle weave, which creates a layer of air, making the fabric gentle on the skin and highly moisturizing.

Versatile uses: flat sheet, bedspread, coverlet, blanket, etc.

Like interior fabrics, linen can be used as a bedspread, while its absorbency and quick-drying properties mean it can also be used as a flat sheet.

It can be used as a fabric, like a bedspread, but linen is also highly absorbent and quick-drying, so it can also be used as a towel blanket.

As a bedspread

It is large enough to be used as a bedspread and is reversible: one side is woven with persimmon tannin-dyed thread, and the other is woven with white linen and cotton thread.

As a flat sheet

Made from only the finest natural materials, you can rest assured that you will have a good night's sleep. The smooth feel of linen and cotton means that it won't cling to your skin even when you sweat, and the fibers also act as moisture-regulating materials, so you can stay comfortable all night long.

About persimmon tannin dyeing

Japan's traditional persimmon tannin dyeing is a natural dye made by fermenting the juice of persimmons. The thread is soaked in this solution, dyed, washed, and dried, a process that is carefully repeated many times to achieve the beautiful persimmon tannin color. The main component of the color is persimmon tannin, which reacts with various other components to create a deep color. However, it can also be broken down by light and heat, causing the color to fade. In other words, when you wash persimmon tannin for the first time in your daily life, the color will deepen as it reacts with water and detergent. Then, after repeated washing and drying, at some point the color will begin to fade (lighten). Japanese people have enjoyed watching this change in color since ancient times. Fading and changes in color are completely natural, and are proof that natural materials are used. With these characteristics,

Persimmon tannin dyeing does not transfer color, so there is no need to worry about staining other clothes when washing. It is also resistant to friction and is an environmentally friendly dyeing method. It is gaining attention as a method.

Enjoy the change of color

Traditional Japanese persimmon tannin dyeing is a natural dye made from fermented persimmon juice. Threads are soaked in this liquid, then dyed, washed, and dried, carefully and repeatedly until they achieve a beautiful persimmon hue. This persimmon tannin has the property of darkening colors by reacting with various components. It also has the property of lightening colors as it breaks down in the presence of light and heat. When an item is washed for the first time in daily life, the persimmon tannin reacts with the components in the water and detergent, causing it to darken. After repeated washing and drying, the color suddenly changes and fades (this kind of color change itself has been enjoyed by Japanese people since ancient times). The appearance and change of color is completely natural, and is a sign that natural materials are being used.

With these characteristics, persimmon tannins do not prioritize color, so there is no need to worry about staining other clothes when washing. They are also resistant to friction and are durable. They are attracting attention as an environmentally friendly dye.

As you wash them more frequently, they will start to fade and the color will become lighter.
With more washing, the color will begin to fade and become lighter.

How to care for persimmon dyed products

1. Avoid light

Do not leave the product in a location exposed to sunlight or electric lights for a long period of time.

When drying, please dry in the shade.

When storing, choose a place where it will not be exposed to light, or wrap it in a cloth or similar.

2. Laundry

Wash in a way that doesn't cause friction. Hand washing is recommended, but if you use a washing machine, be sure to put it in a laundry net and wash it alone.

3. Detergent

Please use a neutral detergent. Avoid using detergents containing bleach or fluorescent brighteners. Also, avoid using fabric softener.

4.Water temperature

We recommend using room temperature water for washing. The warmer the water, the easier it will dissolve the color.

5. Ironing

Please avoid folding the product as this may cause the corners to fade.

6. Dryer

We recommend air drying. If you use a dryer, please use the delicate setting. Please be careful not to overheat, as this may cause shrinkage.
